About Our Area
About Vero Beach, Sebastian and the entire Indian River County. We are centrally located on Florida’s East coast. Rightfully called the Treasure Coast, this area is rich in history, natural resources and the benefits of the climate for which the Sunshine State is famous. Offshore the waters of the Gulf Stream ensure daytime temperatures that seldom drop below 70 degrees. From the barrier island’s twenty-three miles of golden beaches to the azure waters of the Indian and Sebastian Rivers and the lush farm and woodlands, Indian River County is a place where people and business thrive and grow. Living is easy in communities of single family homes designed to suit every lifestyle, from affordable and comfortable to the ultimate in luxury.
Homes and condominiums line the streets of established city neighborhoods or overlook golf course fairways, pastoral settings and expanses of ocean, river or lake. All lie within a short distance of necessary services, shopping, cultural and recreational resources.
The county’s Public and Private school systems provide innovative quality education. West of Vero Beach, the Indian River State College, a four year college, expands the educational horizons for area young people and adults. Both the college and public/private schools provide vocational and technical training for Indian River County’s labor force. The classroom is as big as all outdoors at the Environmental Learning Center and at several natural wildlife areas throughout the county. An integral part of community life, the county libraries’ collections are enhanced with up-to-date computerized systems, hardware/software and audio/visual equipment.
Medical care is state of the art in Indian River County’s two hospitals. Residents are served by a wide range of highly qualified health care professionals. Indian River County also has numerous Independent Living, Assisted Living and Hospice for all needs. Spiritual needs are met by houses of worship representing all Christian denominations, as well as other religious affiliations.
In addition to its beaches and water for swimming, surfing, scuba diving, boating, wind surfing and other water sports, Indian River County’s parks offer countless opportunities for recreation and enjoying the outdoors. Both public and private golf courses allow for all levels of play and tennis facilities are widely available. Disney’s Vero Beach Resort and a host of museums, theaters, restaurants, night spots, farmer’s market, and shopping areas allow you to have the makings of an incomparable quality of life.
